capital of the province of Quebec.
Explorer Samuel de Champlain founded the French settlement in 1608, and adopted the Algonquin name.

Quebec City is one of the oldest European settlements in North America and the only fortified city north of Mexico whose walls still exist.
This area was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985 as the "Historic District of Old Quebec".
My arrival in Quebec City was aboard the magnificent Emerald Princess.
This experience set the tone for an unforgettable adventure. As the ship glides into port, you’re greeted by the stunning panorama of the old city’s skyline, a blend of centuries-old architecture and charming streets that seem straight out of a fairy tale.
Disembarking, you immediately sense the unique blend of European charm and North American vibrancy that defines Quebec City.
Since the dock is used for industrial operations and recreational activities, only authorized vehicles can access it during cruise season. Even though the dock is a short distance from Old Quebec on foot, a complimentary port shuttle is available for passengers.

My initial objective for the day was to head to the iconic Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, designated as "the most photographed hotel" in the world. I had pre-arranged a private tour of the property scheduled for 10am. As you approach this grand hotel, you’re struck by its imposing presence and architectural grandeur. Nestled atop Cap Diamant, this historic hotel has been a symbol of the city since 1893.

- Winston Churchill - The British Prime Minister stayed at the Château Frontenac during the Quebec Conferences of World War II.
- Franklin D. Roosevelt - The U.S. President was also present during the Quebec Conferences.
- King George VI and Queen Elizabeth - The royal couple visited the hotel during their 1939 tour of Canada.
- Charles de Gaulle - The French President stayed at the Château Frontenac.
- Alfred Hitchcock - The famous director shot scenes from his film "I Confess" at the hotel.
- Celine Dion - The Canadian singer
- Paul McCartney - The former Beatle stayed at the hotel during his visits to Quebec City.
- Queen Elizabeth II - Visited the hotel during her tours of Canada.
- Princess Grace of Monaco - The actress-turned-princess
